Sophie Bohnert

Sophie Bohnert received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Business Law from Vienna University of Business and Economics/Maastricht University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics and Social Sciences from Vienna University of Business and Economics. Sophie is currently a doctoral candidate at the Vienna University of Business and Economics and an LLM candidate at the College of Europe in Bruges.

Sophie’s research interests span a panoply of policy areas in European Law, including EU foreign trade and investment as well as competition law. She authored a number of scientific papers on investment screening. She is particularly interested in taking a comparative look at different approaches to FDI screening and exploring the future evolution of the EU FDI Screening Regulation.
