Cind Du Bois
Professor Dr. Cind Du Bois has a Master degree in Economics as well as in Political Sciences. In 2007 she obtained her PhD in Economics from the Free University of Brussels and started her academic career. Since 2009 she is affiliated to the Royal Military Academy (RMA) where she currently heads the Department of Economics, Management and Leadership. In this role she combines teaching and research with a focus on topics such as military demand, burden sharing, the organization of the defence industry and geoeconomics. At the RMA she is selected as Vice-President of the Faculty of Social and Military Sciences as well as President of the Doctoral Commission. She is also member of the Scientific Board of the Royal Higher Institute of Defense (RHID) as well as of the Climate and Environment Risk Assessment Center (CERAC).
Complementary to her affiliation at the RMA, she is also an external research fellow at the Belgian independent think-thank Itinera (Brussels) and acts as an expert in the economic domain for the Hybrid Centre of Excellence (Helsinki).
Since 2024 she is member of the Editorial Board of the Academic Journal “Defence and Peace Economics.
