CELIS German Chapter Round Table in Berlin – 27th May 2025
CELIS German Chapter, BLOMSTEIN and Dentons jointly organize an economic policy Round Table on 27th May (17:00-19:00) in Berlin to discuss the impact of trade policy measures on investment decisions. In particular, the debate will focus on how new and complex trade policy measures on both sides of the Atlantic and their embedding in questions of economic security affect investment decisions as well as investment screening.
The Round Table will be kicked off by a keynote speech held by Christian Lau (Partner at Dentons Brussels/Geneva), a renowned expert in international trade law. Among others, the following questions will be addressed:
- Which investment barriers have been actually imposed or seriously threatened with by the 2nd Trump administration thus far and how has the EU responded?
- What role does the focus on economic security play and what consequences can be expected for investment incentives?
- How can existing international rules curb the current developments?
- What opportunities can arise from new investment incentives in the context of trade policy measures (e.g. via trade defence measures)?
We are looking forward to discussing these current topics with a large field of participants including in-house counsel and compliance officers, representatives of trade associations such as BDI and DIHK, political decision-makers as well as experts from academia.
The event takes place at the Dentons Belin office (Markgrafenstraße 33 10117 Berlin | Map | 17:00 – 19:00) and is held in German. Participation is free of charge, please register here by 15th May.
